About Us
The Curious Compass Co.™ is a family-created space for slow travel, worldschooling, and meaningful adventure. We believe some of the best learning happens far beyond a classroom, tucked inside train rides, campfire conversations, rainy afternoons, wrong turns, and the moments that don’t go according to plan.
We’re a traveling family of five learning our way through the world together, one destination at a time.
Some seasons of life have looked like camping across the United States. Over the years, we’ve traveled in a little bit of everything: a Class C RV, a rented Aliner, a fifth wheel, and most recently, simple tent camping beneath the trees. We’ve spent nights beside rivers in Colorado, explored deserts and mountain towns, cooked meals outdoors, and learned that some of the best family memories are made somewhere between setting up camp and watching the stars come out.
Other seasons have carried us farther across the world.
We’ve wandered through Vietnam from Ho Chi Minh City to the mountains of Sapa, shared bowls of pho on tiny plastic stools, explored lantern-lit streets in Hội An, and watched our kids grow more confident with every unfamiliar place.
In Taiwan, we chased waterfalls, wandered crowded night markets, released sky lanterns in Shifen, and discovered quiet little moments that somehow became the memories we still talk about months later.
Thailand brought longtail boats, temple visits, island sunsets, giant markets, mountain roads, and countless reminders that travel rarely goes perfectly, but imperfect adventures often become the stories worth keeping.
Some days look magical.
Some days look like laundry, homeschool lessons, tired kids, delayed buses, or trying to figure out dinner somewhere unfamiliar.
Most days are a little bit of both.
That’s really what inspired The Curious Compass Co.™.
Not polished travel perfection.
Not “quit your life and travel forever” fantasy.
Just a real family choosing curiosity again and again.
Here you’ll find honest stories, practical travel reflections, and worldschooling inspiration for families seeking a slower and more meaningful way to experience the world.
Whether you’re roadschooling full-time, planning a once-a-year family trip, or simply dreaming about a slower and more meaningful way to experience the world, we’re glad you’re here.
